Hélène van Stralen (1944) was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam, the current Willem de Kooning Academy, where she graduated in 1967. Her paintings are melancholy or cheerful, with a nod to the viewer. She regularly exhibits her work; next exhibition is at Café ‘t Pakhuys (expected first half of 2021).
